Today’s blog about the weather is for intermediate English students. Brazil is in the spring season now, whereas Europe is in autumn (fall) when it gets colder and the leaves drop.
The weather is usually pleasant during spring time, blue skies and a few scattered clouds. Sometimes, the sky is overcast, and on occasion it rains. Spring time is when plants, trees and flowers blossom, the time that will form seeds or fruit.
As a verb, blossom means to produce flowers. Your favorite time of year may be spring, when all the trees blossom and the air is perfumed with their scent. The verb blossom also means to begin to flourish and develop. If you are a teenager, you might be waiting to blossom and feel confident in your personality and grow into your lanky limbs.
Nature is always changing. We are part of this phenomenon. As nature is closely linked to us, we have to take care of it. Global warming is another area everyone should be aware of by contributing to taking care of our planet.
The current COP27 is underway right now. Encouragements are President Biden has reactivated the USA’s participation, China has committed to planting seventy billion trees, and Brazil’s new president, Lula will be attending.
The COP27 is a further opportunity for the world to come together and demonstrate the strength to take on the climate challenge through concerted, collaborative and impactful action.
Take care!
