Bête the Hiker

Bête lived in the countryside, in a village of one hundred citizens. It was a small village called Cabelgreen. She would get up at 7 o’clock in the morning to go to school. First, she used the toilet. Then she would wash her face and hands, brush her teeth, and comb her hair.  After that she would get dressed to have breakfast.

She was lucky because her mother made her scrambled eggs on toast every morning. She would also give her a cup of tea with milk. Sometimes she’d have some fruit like an apple, an orange, or a banana.

She considered herself to be lucky because her mum looked after her. In other words, she cared for her wellbeing! She would leave home at around 7.45am.

The school was across the fields and along a river bank. It was approximately three miles to school, and there was no public transport. There were several farms that she had to walk through them, as well.

The journey was really a hike because she was trekking via farm land. She loved it, as in her mind it was pure pleasure. She really liked walking to and from school. Once at school she studied a lot to get good grades (results).

Bête left school at 3.30pm in the afternoon. If the weather was nice, she would hike home slowly and admire the birds and animal life. Sometimes there were cows, and if she was fortunate there might be lambs.

She really loved her lifestyle!
