Sucking out enough energy to create ongoing success requires the right mindset. However, having a good attitude without the physical energy can mean going against the flow. Today’s blog is a reminder of what’s needed to stay on the right track.
Results have to be achieved! Therefore, on this Monday morning taking stock of your tight spot, if you are in one, or perhaps you have fully recharged your energies after the long Easter weekend and are ready to plow ahead. Either way it’s time to reevaluate and take a plunge forward, and no better way to do it than by creating the monster mindset and Hercules physical attributes that go hand in hand with legends like King Arthur or Lady Godiva.
Lady Godiva was an Anglo-Saxon woman and wife of the ruler of Coventry, England. She loved her husband dearly, but always opposed the way he treated his people. Then when her husband issued a heavy tax on the local people, Lady Godiva begged him to stop this oppressive tax, called a "Heregeld". According to the legend, Godiva's husband retorted that he would only stop the tax if she rode through the streets of Coventry naked.
For the love of her people Lady Godiva did this, covered only with her hair. She was, however, so popular and respected that the entire city stayed put while she rode through it except for Tom, a tailor, who watched through a hole in his shutter. Thus, the term ‘peeping Tom’. Legend says he was struck blind for not obeying Lady Godiva's request.
Godiva’s husband, of course, abolished the oppressive law.
The interesting thing is that we become what we believe because the mind is a powerful tool. This can be cultivated by education and its consistent development over time. Improvement is a must and to get the most out of ourselves we need to seek continual growth.
Going to the gym to work-out with weights, or crossFit (cross-discipline fitness) which is a high-intensity fitness program incorporating elements from several sports and types of exercise. Additionally, learning English is a must in today's international mood!
The bottom line is changing several bad habits like going to bed late, eating fast food too often, helps. However, getting into a healthy routine like meditational therapy which can be done alone at home on your own terms and time, incorporating deep breathing, and eating good food at regular intervals will all contribute to winning performance.
The real key is collectively treating your body as a shrine, making dreams become a reality, and consistently improving to stay focused and alert!
All the very best,
Prof. Carl Boniface
