If you have never visited Europe then now is the time to start thinking about booking your vacation. September is perhaps the best month if you are budget conscious, as the main holiday season is over which means less tourists, and consequently attractive holiday rates.
Europe has some beautiful locations to visit, there is much history to follow, and the atmosphere from the culture can be heartwarming. Scenic views from different humanities developing the land over thousands of years will bring pure joy, as you will be able to visit incredible spots, savor foreign cuisine, and then sip wine slowly to appreciate it all!
If you like to enjoy the ocean, be it for swimming, cruising, snorkeling or jet-skiing, September is one of the best times to enjoy Europe’s waters. With less crowds and warm sea temperatures, there are many stunning destinations where you can combine your love for the waves with a memorable vacation.
European countries are full of vibrant cities bursting with culture and scenic landscapes ranging from the countryside’s of France and Italy to the islands of Greece and Spain. With so many beautiful places boasting natural wonders and must-see sights, it comes as no surprise that deciding which spots to visit in Europe can be difficult.
Here are a couple of options worth visiting:
1 – Greek Islands: Unlike the scorching heat of the peak summer months, September greets travellers with those sought-after 'just right' temperatures. Not too hot nor too chilly, Greece in September boasts pleasantly warm days (hovering around 25°C) and beautifully balmy evenings. Even better, the Aegean Sea is at its warmest in September.
Gorgeous sandy beaches, architecture in white and blue, traditional lifestyle, folk music, warm, hospitable people and barren landscapes with isolated chapels turn a trip to the Greek islands into a lifetime experience. And what’s more, plate smashing after a traditional dinner feast!
Additionally, topless ladies display on the beaches, so if you, like me, appreciate beauty then you’ll find the Islands very refreshing!
2 – Lisbon, Portugal is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, filled with stunning architecture, gorgeous museums, delicious cuisine, and unique attractions. However, if you plan on coming to the city then 2-3 days should be enough before moving on to another part of Portugal.
Another outstanding place to visit is Porto, a true treasure among European destinations, inviting travelers with its rich history, affordability compared to other destinations and friendly locals. With a diverse food scene, innovative atmosphere, and breathtaking views like Ponte Luís I bridge, Porto offers an unforgettable experience.
The Algarve is the beautiful southern coastline of Portugal. It is a region blessed with glorious sandy beaches, picturesque fishing towns and a glorious climate, all of which combine to create the perfect holiday destination.
Europe has a multitude of different cultures and cuisines packed into a relatively small geographical area. For the novice tourist, this enables one to see a lot in a two-week trip.
All the best!
