Heritage Softail Classic

Hitting everyone’s level of satisfaction chart between 8 to 10 isn’t an easy feat. Logically, diverse things excite people in different ways. Some like to go to the cinema, eat out with friends or family in a nice restaurant, drink a whisky on the rocks or a dry martini stirred not shaken, go parachuting, jet skiing, travel, drive, or ride a motorcycle for entertainment.

Perhaps riding a custom motorcycle doesn’t excite you too much! On the other hand, if you were prepared to think about it then maybe you’d get my drift. Imagine having a machine under your belt that you control. Imagine it is hot and riding a motorcycle will cool you down because you are exposed to the breeze against your body. Envisage cruising around at your own pace!

You feel a sense of freedom from the rest of the world because you are totally in control, not having to appease a passenger in a car, and literally you can escape reality by riding out of the city into the countryside where there are lovely country lanes. Where you can lean into the curves with your bike and enjoy the pleasant scenery travelling to the destination of your choice. Time is on your side because you’ve made plans to visit a friend in another town or country village.

Riding a Harley Davidson is a nostalgic experience. HD engines are V-Twins, and this particular one, a 2009 Heritage Softail Classic, has 1,584-cylinder capacity (cc) which can reach about 165km per hour. However, speed apart it’s a great bike for plodding around the city, cruising on highways, and brilliant for twisty roads. Handling is good while maneuverability is excellent. Due to its low seat height shortish riders feel at ease riding it. The center of gravity is just perfect. In fact, many ladies of the road chose the Heritage because not only is the motorcycle comfortable, but it gives them the control factor to make the riding experience first-rate.

Fitted from factory with just about everything you need on a bike, you’ve got saddle bags, crash bars, fog lights, fairing/windscreen, backrest, and all the luxury you’d expect when purchasing a custom cruiser. This motorcycle hits all the spots to make the experience of riding a truly memorable one.

Motorcycling can be much fun, especially if you get the appropriate training to handle the bike you acquire. There are several courses that teach safety procedures to get the most out of your riding experience, and how to avoid accidents while keeping control in difficult circumstances. Yes, there are risks. The key is to diminish them by improving your proficiency.

It isn't that the pleasure outweighs the risk element, but the adrenalin from riding one of these monsters is a bug that lines your body; you can't get rid of, the fuel of your passion!

Take care!
