Star of the moment, Abel Ferreira, Palmeiras Football Club coach who has led the team on to win 8 trophies since joining the club, cannot get enough demand from European clubs such as Nice, PSG, and Nottingham Forest, among others, as well as Saudi Arabian clubs.
Cristiano Ronaldo plays for Al-Nassr since January 1, 2023. The Portuguese footballer joined on a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Saudi Arabian side. His contract with Al-Nassr will be close to paying him 200 million euros per season.
Coach Abel Ferreira has turned down two millionaire offers to lead teams in Saudi Arabia. According to ESPN, the coach had proposals from Al Hilal, Flamengo's executioner team in the Club World Cup, and additionally by Al Nassr, the team where Cristiano Ronaldo plays.
The Palmeiras coach would have received an offer of US$20 (BRL 100) million per year to move to Saudi Arabia. Incidentally, it is worth mentioning that Palmeiras did not receive any contact. The Saudi clubs consulted Abel Ferreira's manager, who conveyed their interest to the coach. However, Abel immediately refused.
Al Nassr has Cristiano Ronaldo from Portugal as the star of its squad. Al Hilal still haven't found a star while suffering from Messi's refusal. Hopefully, they will soon find another superstar. The two clubs are also interested in Botafogo’s Luís Castro who leads them as the leader of the Brasileirão Cup.
One of the reasons for Abel’s decision to stay at Palmeiras is his happiness and stability at the club. The coach has full support and confidence from the board, and even more so from the fans. In addition, the lead coach brought his family to live in São Paulo last year, so any major changes in his plans would have to be authorized by his wife and daughters who are key to his success.
Abel has got a contract with Palmeiras until 2024, during which he has confirmed that he wants to go all the way with his work at the “Verde” club. The coach is long-standing since his arrival in November 2020. In addition, the coach was a target of the CBF who have since agreed verbally with Carlo Ancelotti (Italian), Real Madrid (ESP) current coach to head the Brazilian national team next year.
For your records, Portugal is a small country with just eleven million inhabitants producing top football and management stars. No wonder many Brazilians are relocating to such a beautiful country.
Have a great day!
